The Sprintcar Racing Association of Victoria held there annual Presentation dinner recently to a full house, the dinner this season was also a celebration for Eureka Garages and sheds as their tenth season of the Open sprintcar Series naming rights sponsor. All in attendance were also entertained with the jovial wit of MC David Mills and some entertaining comments from the drivers as they received their awards.
The Sprintcar Racing Association of Victoria have sold out all seat for the 2012-2013 Presentation that is to be held in Geelong on the 25th of May, the speed that the tickets sold at has surprised the SRA committee and exceeded their expectations. The night has proved to be very popular since moving to the Geelong Mercure venue that has been very well attended by the teams and sponsors and the early bookings is very please for yet another big night.
Daniel Pestka took the victory in last nights SRA 360 Sprintcar Gold Cup at Western Speedway Hamilton, from the last season’s winner Darren Hickman and Paul Solomon in a race that had highs and lows for a few of the main contenders.
Western Speedway Hamilton will present the annual 360 Sprintcar Gold this Saturday night the 4th of May with a very tough field of competitors nominated for the event. Defending Gold Cup winner Darren Hickman will be back looking for another win but when you add into the field the likes of Victoria 360 Sprintcar Champion Matthew Reed, South Australia’s Daniel Pestka who won the 360 event at Murray Bridge two weeks ago, three times Australia 360 Champion Ryan Jones and last season Victorian Champ Chris Solomon you know this is going to be a tough night of racing.
The Sprintcar Racing Association of Victoria is pleased to release the tentative 2013-2014 Sprintcar racing dates after a recent venue operators meeting. With a few changes all indications are that the new racing season will be another big season for not only the competitors but the spectators as well. While the SRA is pleased to release these race dates the SRA is still finalizing a few events.
Darren Mollenoyux took the win in last nights Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series Grand Final at Premier Speedway Warrnambool but it was not enough to retain the Series Crown with Matthew Reed finishing in sixth place to give him the 2012-2013 Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series Title by ninety two points and his seventh Series Title.
The SRA 360 Sprintcar Gold Cup that was planned for Western Speedway Hamilton this Saturday night has been rescheduled to May the 4th due to three other venues within one and half hours drive of Western speedway running on the same night. It was felt that this change was in the best interest of not only Western Speedway but for the competitors and the spectators with so much racing on in the area.
The rescheduled Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series Grand Final heads to Premier Speedway Warrnambool this coming Sunday afternoon the 14th of April for the battle of the Eureka Series Championship between defending Series Champion Darren Mollenoyux and current Series points leader Matthew Reed but forty four other drivers nominated want a slice of the action as well.
Premier Speedway will be hosting the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series Grand Final this Saturday night that will be something Special to who ever takes the Title, to be crowned the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series Champion this years will carry a little more prestige with it, This season is Eureka Garages Sheds tenth season as the naming rights sponsor which is a outstanding contribution to not only the SRA Eureka Series but to Speedway in this country.
David Murcott took a convincing win in round eleven of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series at Avalon Raceway last night on a near perfect race track from defending Eureka Series Champion Darren Mollenoyux and visiting American driver Geoff Ensign.
The top three drivers going into round ten of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series at Simpson Speedway last night maintain there point positions with Matthew Reed taking the win from Darren Mollenoyux and Brett Milburn leaving the Series still wide open heading into tonight’s penultimate round of the Series at Avalon Raceway.
The Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series heads into the long weekend with two rounds of the Series paying $5000 to win each night, Saturday night the action is a Simpson Speedway followed the next night, Sunday night at Avalon Raceway. With the Eureka Series Championship still an open affair between five drivers and the extra money and valuable points all guns will be blazing looking for the Gold and Glory.
Daniel Pestka’s late decision to make the trip to Western Speedway Hamilton for round nine of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series after the long trip home from Western Australia earlier in the week paid off by taking a very well deserved feature win in the Eureka Series last night.
