The annual Sprintcar Racing Association of Victoria presentation dinner was held last Saturday night with John Vogels, Jamie Veal and Rod Matthews claming the major share of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series Gold. While Vogels took outright honours along with the top prize and major share of the points fund in the Eureka Series, Veal left with an arm full of awards but it was Rod Matthews who went home with Gold, Rod not only took a slice of the Eureka Series prize pool, he also added a $16000 KTM 450 Quad bike to his list.

Sponsors, guests, officials, drivers and their teams along with friends witnessed a mix of presentations, entertainers, raffles and some very amusing award reciprocates speeches with MC “David Mills” keeping the show rolling along for all to enjoy. Millsy open the night’s proceedings with his version of the Duty of Care before getting down to business with award presentations.

Heading down to the major awards of the Eureka Sprintcar Series, Eureka Garages and Sheds principal Domenic Sabatino joined Millsy on centre stage to present the Eureka Series top three prize pool money and trophies. First up once again was Jamie Veal to accept his third place awards to go with the season aggregates and one of the most improved driver awards and the Corey Gibson framed photo. After a few a words from Veal series runner up Mike Van Bremen joined Domenic to accept his awards and thank all his sponsors and the Series Sponsors. The new 2009-2010 Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series Champion for the fourth time, John Vogels was called up to receive his $10000 prize and the 1st place trophy from Domenic, after John completed his acceptance speech the Corey Gibson Framed photo were handed to the top three before a short photo shoot with Domenic.

A short break was called before the final award of the night, the Eureka Series top ten KTM drivers were then called to the stage for the random draw of a brand new 450cc KTM Quad bike valued at over $16000 thanks to Jeff Leisk and KTM Australia. Also thankyou to Eureka Garages and Sheds, Avalon Raceway and Premier Speedway for assisting to make this award possible with KTM.

The anticipation was rising as Millsy had a few quick words with each of the KTM Top ten driver’s before Domenic’s wife Ranya was called upon to draw the lucky winner, with a short silence the announcement came, Rod Matthews winning the magnificent KTM Quad.
