The 20102011 Race date calendar for the Sprintcar Racing Association of Victoria is growing into one of the best seasons for sprintcar racing on record. Recently the SRA held its annual track meeting to plan the new seasons dates with the venue operators, at the end of the day twenty seven race dates were tabled and final discussion for two further events are to be finalized.
On offer so far for the Open sprintcar competitors is twenty four confirmed events along with three SRA 360 Sprintcar shows, these events will be conducted at eight different venues. Throw in the All-Stars events to be released in the near future and there will be more than thirty five nights of racing in and around Victoria confirmed so far for the new season.
Once again the season will open at Avalon Raceway with the $10000 to win Sprintcar Jackpot on October the 16th before the Eureka Sprintcar Series opens with round one at Avalon at the end of October. The Series will then head to South Australia for a double header weekend at Bordertown followed the next night at Mt Gambier, the series will take in seven venues throughout the season with a second double header in March at Simpson and Avalon before heading to Premier Speedway for their third round of the Eureka Series and the Grand Final. The Eureka Series will also be looking at a few different race formats during the season as well.
As usual there will the World Series Sprintcar events, the Kings Challenge, Presidents Cup and Easter Trail but two of the biggest show in the country are slated down for Premier Speedway Warrnambool in the month of January. The new season will see the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic moved forward one week to the twenty second and twenty third to allow the Australian Open Sprintcar Title to be conducted a few days latter in the month of January.
The 360 Sprintcars will open up with the Victoria 360 Sprintcar Title heading to Horshams Blue Ribbon Speedway in November before a return later in the season during April for the 360 Sprintcar Challenge. Western Speedway will also run the very successful 360 Sprintcar Gold Cup once again.
The SRA will again conduct the annual Scrutineering and practice day prior to the commencement of the season opener, this date is yet to be announced.
