Can David Murcott capture his Classic form to take a win in the Eureka Garages & Sheds Series at Premier Speedway
The Eureka Sprintcar Series Steps up a Notch at Premier Speedway
Author : Ian Vale
The fifth round of the SRA Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series steps up a notch with the two champions in their own rights booking in for this event, American Kyle Hirst and Brooke Tatnell has nominated as well to challenge the regular Eureka Series drivers at Premier Speedway this Saturday.
Such is the level of competitors nominated in the fifty plus field you could be forgiven for thinking this round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series is the prelude to the Classic! What an impressive list of drivers in the field, Four Eureka Garages & Sheds Series Champions that have eight Championships between them, Jamie Veal, Shaun Dobson, John Vogels who were all on the podium at the last round of the Series at Premier Speedway a few weeks back and Darren Mollenoyux also a Eureka Champ.
Four Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic winners, Kyle Hirst, Steven Lines, Ian Loudoun and Brooke Tatnell who also has five Australian Titles plus nine World Series Championship. Then add James McFadden with two Australian Titles and Two World Series Championships and Steven a Classic winner who also has won the World Series crown plus David Murcott the current Australian Sprintcar Champion and let’s not leave out Daniel Pestka the current Victorian Sprintcar Champion and a winner of many Eureka Garages & Sheds Series feature races.
Now to add a little more prestige to this round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series which also doubles as the USC Parr Motorsport track champions is that every State and Territory in Australia is being represented at this event.
The format will be time trials, for this event the time trials will revert back to straight through format that will seed the drivers into their ten qualifying heat races. As Normal the heats will be followed by the last chance C and B Main events. The top six point’s qualifiers will line at the front of the Eureka Garages & Sheds A Main in order as per their time trial qualifying times.
Now with that all said and done and a star studded field there is the matter that there are valuable points in the race meeting for the 2015-2016 Eureka Garages and Shed Championship and for the KTM Australia award. All but three of the drivers in the top forty of the points standings in the Eureka Series are nominated for this round so for any driver to qualify direct into the A main event that will be a big achievement in its self.
With a big program the sprintcars will be on track early for their time trials by 5.30pm with heat races to follow shortly afterwards.
