Author : Ian Vale

The Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series round three that has $5000 on the line for the winner heads to Premier Speedway this Saturday night with a strong field of nominations that includes many of the country’s finest sprintcar drivers.

What a cracker of a field, while current Eureka Series Champion Brett Milburn is one of the many drivers nominated there is also four other drivers nominated that have been Eureka Garages & Sheds Series Champions, Jamie Veal, Shaun Dobson, Darren Mollenoyux and Mike Van Bremen, then add in two more drivers that have had great success at the Premier Speedway venue, James McFadden and Darwin’s Ben Atkinson and you’ve nearly got a hamburger with the lot!

Now if that isn’t a list of top drivers that any venue operator would like to have on any given night lets add some other drivers that are no strangers to podium placing’s Grant Anderson, Tim Rankin, Chad Ely, Tim Hutchins, Glen Sutherland, Tim Van Ginneken plus some of the new generation drivers that have show already they are stars of the future, Brayden Parr, Jordyn Charge and Rusty Hickman who is on fire at the moment.

The format for this round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds is the heat group time format, drivers are seeded into the time trial groups and then time trial for their starting position in their first heats against the drivers in their group only where the fastest driver will start from pole second fastest from P2 and so on. The second round of heats will be an inversion of the first round and swap heats. The points from these events will form the Top six driver shootout for pole position in the Eureka Garages & Sheds A Main while the other drivers will line up in the A, B and C Main as per there qualifying points.

While some of the drivers nominated will not be able to contest all the rounds of the Series due other commitments that will see six of the drivers nominated on the WSS trail this season this round of the Series will see all the top ten drivers in the Series points in action. Along with most of the drivers from eleventh thru to twentieth place in the points standings.

With many of the regular series drivers throwing their hat into the ring there is a few rookie drivers from the Warrnambool area in the field too, Carly Walsh, Chris Heard, Rhys Baxter and from down Gippsland way is Bobby Daly.
