All Roads Head to Heartland for the Eureka Garages & Sheds Series
Author : Ian Vale
Round eleven of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series will be conducted this Saturday night the 24th of February at Heartland Raceway in Echuca / Moama with over thirty drivers from four States entered that includes nine of the top ten drivers in the Series. After last weekend’s round of the Series the points closed up between the top three in the Series, Rusty Hickman, Brett Milburn and Tim Hutchins, there is only two hundred and fifteen points’ now between the top three.
When we look a bit further down in the points Jacob Smith who sits in fourth place has Charles Hunter, Brayden Parr and last round winner Grant Stansfield in a battle of their own for fourth in the standings again the points are close with only two hundred and twenty seven points covering these drivers.
This round of the Series is very important for the Series contenders to gain as many points as possible as the next rounds of the Series is expected to have bigger car counts and a few of the name drivers that have been off doing World Series competition may be back to add a little more pressure to the regular Eureka Series contenders.
But have a look at this field, Grant Anderson will take some beating at Heartland Raceway, Grants form has been good of late where he took out a feature race win at the Classic. Both Brett Milburn and Rusty Hickman have tasted success at Heartland Raceway so they will be in contention as well along with Tim Hutchins.
New South Wales driver Jackson Delemont is more than capable of running at the pointy end of the field and taking the Eureka Garages & Sheds main event, Jackson is always strong at the Parramatta venue.
Brock Hallet is a competitive driver on any given night, Brock will make the trip over from South Australia this weekend as will Wayne Rowett who had his first run after a few seasons break last weekend at the Western Speedway Eureka Series round with a good finish. Now with those laps under his belt Wayne should be strong this weekend.
Ryan Davis is making a return to the Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series this weekend. With work commitments over the last eighteen months has not allowed Ryan to do much racing although he did a few shows in our off season up in Darwin last year where he picked up a feature race win.
Some of the other Series regulars entered are David Aldersley, Sam Wren, Jordyn Charge, Eddie Lumbar and Adam King along with Dennis Jones.
Dennis was unfortunate to have his tow vehicle break down early in the Series that saw him miss a round and valuable points but his performance over the least few rounds have him back into the all important KTM top ten points and he is looking to stay in the top ten for a shot at winning the new KTM 350 motorbike thanks to KTM Australia.
Two New South Wales drivers that support the Eureka Series when possible and are always at the Heartland Raceway rounds of the Series are Brayden Willmington and Chris McInerney, look for a good showing from these drivers.
Heartland Raceway always seems to present a great Eureka Garages & Sheds A main final and with the quality field of drivers nominated it sure looking to be another top night of sprintcar action.
