Heartland Raceway the Next Stop for the Eureka Sprintcar Series

Round two of the 2018-2019 Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series heads to Heartland Raceway this weekend with another strong field of entries including three Eureka Series Champions, Rusty Hickman, Brett Milburn and Matthew Reed then add in three of the Stars from the 2018 Premier Speedway Grand Annual Classic, Peter Doukas, Grant Anderson and the 2018 Classic Champion Corey McCullagh, these drivers are all class acts and all of them are more that capable of taking the round win.

The talent does not stop with the six drivers just mentioned, Ryan Jones from South Australia is also in the field, Ryan is one of the fastest drivers around and he should not have too much trouble adapting to the big Heartland Raceway. Also joining Ryan from South Australia is the very popular lady racer Lisa Walker, Lisa has had great success in Go Carts and she is carrying that form into her sprintcar career.

Last time out for the Eureka Series at Heartland Raceway Rusty Hickman took the win from Brett Milburn and Braydan Parr, now these drivers have good records at the track and they are sure to be in the mix for possible top three placing’s.

Chris Solomon, Jordyn Charge and Michael Tancredi have one thing in common, each of these drivers have won the Victoria 360 Sprintcar Title and they all have stepped into the Open 410 class with great success and yes they all have experienced this venue with good results.

New South Wales competitor Mick Saller has nominated after taking tenth place at last weekend’s opening Eureka Garages & Sheds Series round at Avalon Raceway.

Corey McCullagh had his first run for the Indy Race Parts Team out of Geelong at Avalon Raceway last weekend with all new equipment, After qualifying on the front for the main event he was looking good in the new car for a strong second place behind Darren Mollenoyux only to have James McFadden take that place from him on the last lap. Now Corey is more familiar with the new equipment he will hard to beat this weekend.

Speaking of James McFadden at the time of writing a late nomination has arrived nominating the current World Series and past Australian Champion James McFadden to be in the field for this weekend’s event. This may possibly be James first visit to Heartland Raceway but with his American racing experience it will not take too much for him to be on the pace.

Heartland Raceway is the nearest track for Deniliquin driver Eddie Lumbar and after a mishap ended his night early last week he is looking for a strong night this weekend.

Gippsland’s Bobby Daly put in an outstanding performance last weekend to qualify on the second row of the main event where he finished the night with a very creditable sixth place. Dennis Jones from the Gippsland region also had a good night and both these drivers will want to keep that good form going.

Other hard charges entered are Brayden Parr, Paul Solomon and Tasmania’s Tim Hutchins. The Victorian Western District will be well represented with Jye Okeeffe
who finished in fourth place at round one plus Grant Stansfield and Rhys Baxter will make the trip as well.

Terry Rankin is very much new to sprintcar racing and had a limited program in his rookie season of 2017-2018 with his budget but thanks to the A Plus Powder Coating Team out of Lara Terry has been given the opportunity to contest many of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Series rounds this season where he put in a great performance in his first drive for the Team in round one to take ninth place on the night.

With thirty six drivers nominated for round two of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcars and many of them the best in the business this night is shaping to be one of the best nights yet of sprintcar at Heartland Raceway.

Heartland Raceway Moama on Saturday the 20th of October for round two of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series with on track sprintcar action to commence approximately 5.45pm. The Sprintcars will be supported by the Wingless Sprints and the V8 Dirt modified, a big night of open wheel racing.
