The action will be hot at Western Speedway Hamilton

The Eureka Sprintcar Series is off to Western Speedway Hamilton
Author : Ian Vale

After the new year’s break from the Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series it’s time to get back down to business for round eight of the Series at Western Speedway Hamilton this weekend that has attracted thirty seven nominations so far for this event with all the top ten in the points standings in the field.

The current Eureka Series point’s leader Corey McCullagh returns to the driver’s seat this weekend after having to miss out on defending his Grand Annual Classic Title due a wrist injury, while Corey has a healthy points lead in the Series he will be looking to extend that with another strong performance or another round feature win.

Bobby Daly went so close to winning the last round of the Series at Simpson before having to settle for a third place, Bobby is due for a win and the Western Speedway might just be the place for that. Last seasons rookie driver Grant Stansfield took out his first Eureka Garages & Sheds feature win here at Western Speedway, Grant would like nothing better to be up the front in the main event for a crack at another win.

Two you chargers that have good form at Western Speedway are Jordyn Charge and Brayden Parr, Jordyn won a Victorian 360 Title here a couple of seasons back. Brayden is always strong at the venue and after his recent victory in the 360 Allstars at Heartland Raceway Brayden should be right in the mix.

While one of the Eureka Series regulars Domain Ramsay is out for the rest of the season after a big crash at the classic thru no fault of his own there are a few driver replacements for this weekend. David Challons the owner of the V45 J&J is giving a young driver out of South Australia Ben Morris a chance to gain more experience at a couple of new tracks this weekend and then the following weekend at Heartland Raceway.

Also a replacement driver Mitchell Gee the current Queensland Sprintcar Champion will be stepping into the V3 sprintcar for a few drives while the regular peddler Jacob Dickson recovers from a sore back issue.

So a few ins and outs, now add in two of South Australia’s hard chargers, Daniel Pestka and Hayden Pitt these two drivers have what it takes to be front runners on any given night. Also making a return to action after two seasons off is Nick Lacey in the familiar V26 family car.

The level of competition is amazing when you look at the Series points score, there is only three hundred and twenty points separating the drivers from second place in the standings thru to twelfth place, Bobby daly, Brayden Parr, Jordyn Charge, Charles Hunter, Dennis Jones, two time Eureka Series Champ Brett Milburn, Brenten Farrer, Terry Rankin, Sam Wren, Andrew Hughes and Peter Doukas and they are all in the field and what’s more all of these drivers are capable of challenging for a podium placing or even a Eureka Garages & Sheds Series round win.

While work commitments have curtailed Ryan Davis’s racing over the past couple of seasons Ryan has not only nominated for this round of the Eureka Series but he is also in for all the other rounds this season.

The Solomon brothers Paul and Chris are also in the field along with Matthew Reed, Terry Rankin, Rhys Baxter and Tim Hutchins along many more drivers that will make this one of the biggest nights of Sprintcar action to be held at Western Speedway Hamilton.

Western Speedway Hamilton this Saturday the 16th of February 2019 round 8 of Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar with on track action from approximately 5pm.
