The Eureka Sprintcar Series Goes for a Double Header
Author : Ian Vale

The Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series will be a double header later this week with round six of the Series to be conducted at Avalon Raceway Lara on Thursday evening the 26th, Boxing Day and the very next night, Friday the 27th the Series heads to Simpson Speedway Simpson for round seven. Nights have attracted some top competitors, forty six nominations have been received for the Avalon round and Simpson Speedway has thirty three at the time of writing.

With all the top twenty drivers in the points ready for action at Avalon Raceway with the exception of James McFadden this round of the Eureka Sprintcar Series will be a tough night in the office for the drivers. Current point’s leader and two Time Eureka Garages & Sheds Series Champion Brett Milburn will have the company of the 2018-2019 Series Champ Corey McCullagh who will be joined by Grant Anderson who has already taken out two A Main wins in the Series this season. Last round winner driving the Western Nissan supported V60 Jordyn Charge will be looking to keep his recent good form going in front of the corporate guest on the night from Western Nissan.

These three drivers will have to contend with a couple of other heavy hitters, the likes of Darren Mollenoyux and John Vogels who also have been Eureka Series Champions and have tasted victory at Avalon Raceway on many occasions. These two drivers are in good form after their recent runner up placing’s to Grant Anderson in the annual Max Race at premier Speedway two weeks back.

Charles Hunter, Grant Stansfield and Tim Van Ginneken are in for both rounds of the Series; all these drivers have been regular competitors at both venues and should be right in the mix for both nights Main events.

While Brett Milburn has a slight edge over Chris Solomon and Bobby Daly who are second and third in the points, both Chris and Bobby are only separated by a mere twenty nine points and as these two rounds of the Series which are basically the half way point in the 2019-2020 Eureka Series it will be important for these two to have two strong nights to keep in touch with Brett Milburn.

Terry Rankin has not been having the season he would have liked so far but if Terry can get that break and a little luck he will be a main player on both nights.

The talent and depth of the drivers nominated for both these nights of racing would please any venue operator, a full list of the driver nominations for the Avalon Raceway and Simpson Speedway rounds of the 2019-2020 Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series can be viewed at the SRA web site at sravic.com down on the right side of the home page under our valued partners.

This Thursday and Friday night the sprintcar action will be on for the Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series double header with round six of the Series at Avalon Raceway Lara on Thursday the 26th of December to be followed the very next night Friday the 27th of December 2019 at Simpson Speedway Simpson.
