Jordyn Charge Continues the Hot Streak with another Eureka Win
Author : Ian Vale

Jordyn Charge put in a spectacular drive to take his second Eureka Garage & Sheds Series round this season at Simpson Speedway last Friday night to hold off current Eureka Series points leader Brett Milburn while Jacob Smith took a well-deserved third place after only his second race back from injury that side lined Jacob from racing for most of last season and the early part of this season.

After the qualifying heats were run it was Brett Milburn that topped the points table to give him P1 in the Eureka Garages & Sheds A Main event with Jordyn Charge along side on the front row. The question was could the young charger (Jordyn) beat the current point’s lead, at the drop of the green flag? That question was quickly answered when Charge took the lead that he would not surrender during the thirty lap race that was punctuated with caution periods in the early stages.

With the drivers settling down Bobby Daly closed in on Milburn to take second place but that was short lived for Daly after contact with the wall that saw his night end with a flat tyre.

With Daly remove to the infield the race was back under with Charge in command but Milburn had found some good pace to keep Charge within his sights. Jacob Smith was now into third place with Charles Hunter, Grant Stansfield and the fast moving Terry Rankin all looking to close in on Smith. The Solomon brothers Paul and Chris were in the family battle when Tim Van Ginneken arrived to get between the duelling pair.

The leaders were now int heavy traffic but Charge was in control to keep a gap back to Milburn who still had Smith in close proximity. Van Ginneken was driving hard looking to pick off Rankin but after going a little too deep into turn three Van Ginneken ended his run when he hit the wall and rolled.

Back under way for the final few laps and Charge had a clear track to try and pull away but Milburn had the pace to stay with him leaving Smith in third place to fend off Grant Stansfield and Terry Rankin.

Thirty laps completed and Jordyn Charge was victories taking his second Eureka Garages & Sheds Series round from Brett Milburn and Jacob Smith, home in fourth place was Grant Stansfield followed by Terry Rankin and Charles Hunter who rounded out the top six. Chris Solomon took seventh place followed by the other race finisher in order, Brayden Parr, John Vogels, Peter Doukas, Paul Solomon, Rhys Baxter, Sam Wren and Dennis Jones.

Heat winners on the night were VA81 Rhys Baxter, V68 Brett Milburn, VA12 Mark Carlin, V60 Jordyn Charge, V7 Paul Solomon and V73 Charles Hunter.

Top six drivers to transfer from the B Main to the Eureka Garages & Sheds A Main were Peter Doukas, Brayden Parr, John Vogels, Terry Rankin, Tim Van Ginneken and Sam Wren.
