Author : SRA Media

Making his Pro Sprint debut Jake Smith promptly went out and won round 2 of the A Plus Powdercoating Triple Crown Series at Avalon Raceway, Lara finishing ahead of early race leader Michael Tancredi with Matthew Symons finishing a solid third.

Smith started the 25 lap final on pole position being the highest point scorer following qualifying and heat race points were tallied however had to chase down early pace setter Michael Tancredi in traffic before he would go onto a popular win.

It was the first time Smith has raced anything other than his trusty 410ci and he hit the ground running as he managed to negotiate the heavy traffic and a mid race stoppage before taking the chequered flag ahead of Tancredi. Attempting a last lap pass on the outside through the first corner, Tancredi would however finish in the runner up spot as he continued his love affair with the Diggers Cup at Avalon Raceway in April.

Symons was once again on the podium finishing in third place ahead of a fast finishing Jordy Rae who’s daring performance elevated him towards the front.
